So what Bane Ka'ana'ana likes to do in his free time is do social outreach on his home island of Oahu. He has always been about giving back. Even before he signed his first DSFL contract he was helping out how he could, but now that he has the money AND the time to do something great, he has been going all in.
With the COVID-19 crisis ongoing in Hawaii, the islands have been the subject of some of the worst of the pain. While the cases are not huge there, one of the big reasons for that has been the island choosing to isolate itself. This has helped with the death toll and cases toll, but has put a major strain on the island as they rely greatly on both tourism and imports. Inter-island travel has also been temporarily shut down for public use, affecting many who rely on that for work
Not phased by the disease, Bane Ka'ana'ana has been working at soup kitchens and food banks across the island when he is free from his responsibilities in Tijuana. "Helping the local community has always been important to me." says Bane. "They helped make me who I am, so I need to remember that"
