This point task (PT) asks us, the players and users of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL) to write about the biggest draft bust in the league’s history drafted before season 18. To be honest I do not really know much about the league’s history and I usually do my point tasks in the Pro Baseball Experience (PBE) simulation league and use the affiliation here but today I decided to not do that and instead write my point task here. In my eyes, one of the biggest draft busts was my last player, Jake Utler. Going into the season 17 draft, he was one of the most sought after players in the DSFL. I had GMs telling me that they draft me in the first round and even in the top few picks in the draft. Unfortunately for them, I became the co GM of the Solar Bears so I was automatically drafted to them in the second round. This is where things quickly went wrong. I was brand new to the league and had no idea what was going on. The main GM went on vacation in the offseason which left me with all of the responsibility for the team. I didn’t know how the league or the sim worked so it was tough to do anything and I found it difficult to get answers from the head office. This ultimately ended with me stepping down from the GM position and going inactive in the league with that player. I went from a top tier pick in the DSFL to a late round risk in the NSFL draft so that’s a pretty big bust.
