[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Hello, and Welcome to Sapp’s Season 23 NSFL Mock Draft Version 1.0! The only full 8 round Mock Draft so far. Everything in here is based off of the update done on 5/16, DSFL stats up to week 10, and draft order based on the NSFL standings as of Week 12. I hope you enjoy it. If you notice anything off (stats, draft order, etc.) let me know. I probably wont change anything, but it is good to know so I can watch for it for version 2.0 :eyes:

With so many possibilities with this first pick, don’t be surprised if the Yeti trade out of it. They have just about every position filled, and will be looking for guys that will get better with age. Quite the rare commodity for a team with the first overall selection. Despite this, no team will be made if Tyler Mountain makes it onto their roster via a first round selection. So far through 10 games he has recorded over 25 tackles and 4 sacks. If he can continue to disrupt passers with his brute force on the line, he may find his way to a handsome sophomore contract in the near future.

I have Greedy rated as my number one prospect, but he falls to the number two spot due to necessity. The Yeti have quite the secondary right now and need to bolster their defensive line. Due to this, the Hawks get the best player in the draft as he falls to them. So far this season Greedy has been a … Greedy guy in terms of stat padding, recording just about one of every defensive stat. He is an all around player that any team, and especially Baltimore, would love to have on their defense. We could be looking at Danny Grithead 2.0 here, and Baltimore knows that man all too well.

I have Heinrich Kackpoo as my first linebacker off the board here at number three to the Hahalua. This was a difficult choice as there were a couple linebackers worthy of going here, but Heinrich stood out due to his exceptional play this season. Heinrich was tied for third this season in sacks in the DSFL as well as top 10 in passes deflected. He can make an impact all over the field, and it showed for the Pythons as he carried the defense to a potential playoff spot this season. If he continues his climb, he may see himself in the upper echelons of the NSFL great linebackers. Kackpoo brings back memories of Mo Berry when he was in the DSFL and could follow a similar route as the back to back defensive player of the year award winner.

The second Safety off the board goes at number four to the Outlaws and fills a glaring need for the team as they only have one true safety on their roster in Quinn Hughes. Despite not hauling in an Interception this season, L’Caparpetron has been a pretty good pass defender, deflecting many balls over these first ten games of the season. With how the NSFL is more of a passing league than the DSFL, it will be a great hole filled for the Outlaws and they can start competing again for the playoffs with a young core of secondary players to carry them.

The first quarterback off the board is Reginald Covington the Third to the Sailfish. Zach Vega has not panned out quite the was the Sailfish were hoping for, and will be looking for a replacement in this draft. Reginald is one of the few good Quarterbacks coming out of this class, so it seems like the best fit. Despite Reginald being a quite person around the press, he makes up for it with his banter in the locker room in Kansas City and his play on the field as he is tied for fourth in touchdowns thrown despite it being only his first season in the DSFL. He may not be ready right away for the pro league, but give him some time and he will fill in nicely in the franchise Quarterback position that the Sailfish are hoping to start their dynasty off with.

The third safety off the board in twice as many picks, DB is hoping he can prove those other 4 teams wrong as the Sailfish grab their second consecutive defender. Jadakiss shows up as more of an enforcer on the stat sheet, but prides himself as being a jack of all trades on the field. Looking back at his tapes at Fordham, you could see Jadakiss even lining up at defensive end on a couple of downs because of his coaches confidence in DB’s versatility and determination to shut down the play. DB is hoping to push the Seawolves to the playoffs this year in what seems to be his lone season in the DSFL.

Tycker will likely not have to wait very long before he hears his name called on draft day. Edge rushers are few and far away, and the opportunity to shore up this position does not come very often. Om can do just about everything on the field, possessing elite speed already at his position. Om and Son Goku headline a very strong defensive end class, likely coming after quarterbacks near you for years to come.

As a Japanese born player, Kai Sakura has had to overcome some obstacles in his way to starting as a wide receiver in the DSFL for the Grey Ducks of Minnesota. He started his journey at the University of Hawaii after his parents had moved to the islands when he was young. With a bachelor’s degree under his belt, and a Master’s degree on its way, Kai has many options to choose going forward, but teams should know if they draft Kai, they will get an intelligent receiver who is willing to put in the hard work to see the fruits of his labor. The Yeti currently have quite a few young receivers, but adding another here just adds to their spoils and gives the Yeti versatility going forward in the next couple of seasons.

With the Hahalua’s second selection in this first round, they bolster their defense even more with the selection of Ray-Ray Jackson out of the University of Alabama. Ray-Ray is a quiet fellow, and his play hasn’t quiet made the impacted he wanted quite yet. Not many people talk about him as a top prospect, and that is because he has been shutting down receivers so far this year. No picks and only 4 deflections through 10 games, but teams have just not been throwing his way because they know how much of a playmaker he can be. The best comparison I have to Ray-Ray is recent Hall of Fame Inductee Andre Bly Jr. Once you give this guy a shot, he will take it and run with it. The Hahalua get a great value hear at the latter half of the first round.

The Eighth defender comes off the board as star defensive tackle Carl Weezer of the Kansas City Coyotes. He is a text book run stuffer and gets the job done inside. The Sabercats want to keep up their #1 rush defense up, and Carl is the guy to do that for them. Some general managers are concerned about his medically diagnosed asthma and can be seen on tapes taking large amounts of oxygen on the sidelines just to keep up each game. If he can continue to thrive despite his asthma, the Sabercats have a strong, hold-your-ground defensive tackle that will eat up running backs like they are unfinished croissants.

Tyrone Woods falls to the eleventh pick in the draft where the Otters get what seems to be an annual steal in the draft. There was some controversy with Mr. Woods in the preseason, and it may carry over into the NSFL. If teams are worried about their chemistry, they may pass on Tyrone in favor of other prospects. Wherever he may land, that team will get an absolute athlete who has shown teams why it is a bad idea to send their running backs in his general direction.

Son Goku wraps up our first round by going #12 overall to the Yellowknife Wraiths. The Wraiths are in need of a fast Defensive end to help cut the time their secondary will be covering opposing receivers. Looking at his stats in his sole season in the DSFL, Goku is #1 in tackles for a defensive lineman and is top ten overall in sacks and tackles for a loss. Goku will be a strong asset with whatever team drafts him. Some rumors say that he may go higher than 12, but teams typically have more pressing matters than adding another defensive lineman to their team. It also doesn’t help that the first round has seen nine defensive players drafted ahead of Goku. If teams opt to draft offensive players, Goku probably falls to the late second round, maybe even early third round, but only time will tell.

With the first pick of the second round, the butchers take their first player, and it is an electric play maker in Luca Scabbia. At Syracuse, Luca made quick work of the defenders as he won many ACC awards throught his collegiate career. Entering the DSFL, teams didn’t have high hopes for Luca as he slid down the board to the sixth round as the 7th wide receiver taken, but now we see Luca as the second receiver taken in this draft, Only behind Kai Sakura. Many teams are pleased with the play style of Luca as he had few drops and one of the better average yards per catch in the DSFL. Some wish the volume would be higher to see if this continues, but for a run first league, Scabbia showed his talents well, and it is paying off here.

The Hawks are all just about locked in with this pick in the second round. CJ Riley has been somewhat of a force on defense, but has struggled to really standout for a team that is on the verge of missing out on the DSFL playoffs. With only two sacks so far through ten DSFL games, the Hawks may be reaching here. But they have talked highly of him in interviews and believe he is worth the chance as a second round target. If he were to have an NSFL comparison, I would say he would play like Logan Noble Jr.. His play doesn’t translate to stats directly, but Honolulu is very happy with the rookie that they drafted last year.

The third wide receiver off the board is going to the Copperheads at the 15th pick in the draft. Tychondrius Hood has had some electric plays so far this season, going for 609 yards on 41 receptions. Although he only has one touchdown to his name, He has been a big help to his team on moving the chains and getting the Grey Ducks down field. People question how special he really is as he never gained returner duties for his team, but some will just think that is just being nit picky. One other thing people have been questioning with Tychondrius is his hands. The first running back off the board is Arizona State Alumni Nicholas Ayers who has done a phenomenal job for the Buccaneers this season, racking up just about 100 yards per game through ten games and scoring 5 touchdowns on the ground. He hasn’t shown much production in the receiving game, but with a pure runner like him, teams will be happy to take him in the second round. The reason why he does not go earlier? The league is currently stacked with running backs, some that are currently backups would be vying for pro bowl spots in an earlier era. The second of his name to reach the ranks of the NSFL draft. The linebacker put on a show in the DSFL this season with 15 tackles for a loss, three sacks, and two forced fumbles. He has the Bird Dogs in place to make a run at the playoffs in the next four games, and he may be taking hardware home at the end of the season. The reason why General Managers like him so much is that He is one of the fastest Linebackers in this draft and will likely continue that in the NSFL. Bane Ka’ana’ana seems destined to play for the Hanalulu Hahalua. Born on the island of Hawaii in the large town of Hilo. He attended College at the University of Hawaii, and now it just seems appropriate for him to be drafted by Honolulu so he can keep close to his family. He mentions family means a lot to him and it makes sense that he goes here. He hasn’t shown much production on the defensive line so far in his ten games with the Tijuana Luchadores, but his size will definitely translate to the NSFL as not many players are six foot five and 310lbs. Mikel is the prototypical Cornerback that you see in the NSFL. He is fast and rangy, and is willing to put his body on the line to make sure the receiver does not catch the ball. While the Wraiths would love this pick back, the Sailfish are the ones who traded into the last spot of the second round to take Van Perkins.

Much smaller than what General Managers want, and he has trouble holding onto the ball when it gets to him, evident with his 16 drops in just 10 games.

If he can continue his efficiency going forward, the Outlaws should be very happy with their pick.

Videl-San Is easily one of the best wide receiver prospects in this draft, coming in with a consistent earning pace, it’s crazy how she dropped to the 45th overall pick in the developmental simulation Football league draft, but, there are a few keys why she could be a possible mid-round steal, she is a max earner, and is a solid player to have in not only the locker room, but a Great war room presence, and is very helpful to those who need assistance. The Second Line need to bolster their secondary and they do that here with the acquisition of Adelie de pengu as the fourth safety off the board in just 18 picks. Adelie hasn’t done much in coverage this year regarding the stat book, but has kept quarterbacks in check and made them check down much more often than they would want. Despite Joseph being the less efficient runner of the Portland duo, we have him going here in the second round at 19th overall. His counterpart has him beat in yards, yards per carry average, and touchdowns, but don’t let that distract you from the fact that Joseph is the prototypical back that NSFL franchises are looking for. If he can continue to produce as a rusher, he will open up so much for the defensive schemes and be a force that offense will have to game plan around for seasons to come.

Even if he doesn’t get into the backfield as much as some coaches are hoping, he should still be able to stuff gaps with his size.

With his top 10 pass deflections this season paired with his two interceptions, the Sailfish would love to get this guy on the field as soon as possible to shore up their only slightly above average pass defense from last year.
