Vikian Marmeladov born in Moscow Russia. Coming over to the United States he was going to pursue his talents in hockey. As high school was ending his interest in American Football grew. When he came to UCF he heard about the walk on tryouts and decided to try it out. His already developed foot technique from skating, and hip movement made him stand out. His persistence to always be moving and his reading off plays coaches quickly slotted him on the defensive side of the game.
Struggling in his first year to adjust to this type of game style, the coaches did not give up and saw that the raw talent he had could shape into a very nice corner piece on defense. Not starting much in his freshman year he took a starting role in his sophomore year. He would record 40 combined tackles and 2 pass deflections.
Only in his Senior year did he make a huge jump in his play, the understanding, play recognition, reaction, and confidence were finally there for Marmeladov. Scouts noticed how he disrupts plays on every level of the game for the opposition, his reaction and read of plays is one of best in this draft class. And he does not shy away from the physical aspect of the game.
He would tally up 95 combined tackles, 4 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles and 7 pass deflections. He has been compared to likes of Minnesota Vikings Safety Harrison Smith.
He would run a 4.5 in his pro day and catching attention of some of the scouts.
