400 word task #7
The past season was rather disappointing from Jackson Kingston, as Kingston struggled to find his footing in a crowded Luchadores wide receiver room. Often, it seemed like the two other active receivers in front of him (Frederich Vequain and Doug Howlett) were stealing all the shine from Kingston. Kingston's frustrations boiled over in the playoffs, when despite his team securing their seventh total DSFL Ultimini, Kingston was practically nonexistent in the gameplan and the stat sheet.
Most players would be content with an Ultimus win. However, Kingston doesn't want to stop there. To Kingston, he felt he wasn't a big contributor, and he wants to change that. So, starting this offseason, Kingston is getting on his grind. Ever since his father fell deathly ill, Kingston has been dedicating his NSFL career to him, and he feels like he let his father down, for all of the sacrifices his father made for him.
Kingston's dream has been to become the greatest NSFL wide receiver ever, a hall of famer, and a player that re-defined the wide receiver position. Kingston believes he can perform at a high level on an NSFL team next season, and that's where he supposed to be. We interviewed Kingston after the Ultimus, and here's what he had to say.
"I mean, personally, we've won it all on the DSFL. I'm happy. But I know I have so much ahead of me, and because I want to break records, I want to the best guy, I want to be in the NSFL next season. It's nothing against Tijuana. They've treated me great this past season, but I just feel a little held back on this roster."
"It just shows how good our GMs are, man. I'm the third best wide receiver on a championship winning team, and that's saying something. I just don't want to spend another season playing down in the DSFL when we've already won the championship. The first one hits different to all the rest."
With that being said, Kingston opened up about the draft scouting process. "Some teams have contacted me and some haven't," he said. "I don't know why some teams haven't contacted me this late in the process, but so be it. I'll just use it to light a fire under my ass. If they don't want the best wide receiver to ever grace the NSFL, then that's their problem. I'm gonna be here all day."
With Kingston's NSFL future up in the air, it remains to be seen where he will spend the early years in his career. However, Kingston hopes to make an immediate impact on any NSFL team that wants his services.
