PBE CW - Tier 3 Claim
10) Create an argument for your own player, or for someone else on your team, as to why they should be nominated for awards. Lay out their stats or compare them to other contenders. Make a convincing argument. Written option available for 200 words or more.
Well this will be about the easiest argument ever for why a kicker deserves kicker of the year in the DSFL and even potentially MVP. Lets start with some hard numbers.
FG% - who is 1st I wonder? Well no other than the London Royals. 92.9% and by almost 4% ahead of the next highest team. Wait? Who could be the kicker of that team? No other than Datsum Phastbawls.
Next up, longest punt? 57 yards oh wow, what player could that....DATSUM PHASTBAWLS.
Last but not least, who clutched to give both the Royals a playoffs bearth but also a ultimini appearance? None other than the Korean kicking phenom Datsum Phastbawls.
Seeing a trend here? Its pretty clear that the skill, and clutch skils shown this season by this rookie kicker cannot be noticed without at least a landslide favour in voting for kicker of the year as well as some votes if not the win for MVP of the year. Kickers are the highest scoring players on any major football team, and this season was no different. So with all those glorious and career defining stats on the table how can the voters for the major DSFL awards not give the accolades that Datsum deserves when it is time to pass the votes. Make the right choice.
7) Selflessness is one thing, but ultimately everyone wants to hear their own player’s name mentioned among the greats. Take some time, in 400 words or more, and discuss how your player’s (or past player’s) career is going so far. Are you matching any expectations you set out for yourself? Do you see yourself on a potentially award winning or Hall of Fame career trajectory? If your player is just starting out, what goals and visions do you have for yourself?
Well as of right now for my time spent in the NSFL I have never really hit th heights that I have in other leagues.
My first player was the sub par kicker Iyah Blewitt. I think he only ever hit a TPE top end of 550 ish honestly. He was one of the few kickers of note during the early seasons of the NSFL putting his name on the charts a few times, but ultimately besides being drafted stupidly high for a kicker, he never reached many heights as a player would hope.
Next up was the defensive wonder star, Kwame Abayomi Mbanfo. I think I actually hit the 800 tpe mark with this DT but in a league that requires max TEPS and some longevity to really shine KAM fell short in more than a few ways. I think he did get a few rings from sheer proximity and maybe a 1 or 2? Pro bowl apperances but really nothing else to sing the praises of when it comes to the idea of a great NSFL career.
So really at this point I have made two middle of the road players that have never really reached much heights. So whats the difference this time? Well with Datsum I can't say my goals are super high by any means. I know this league has lacked some real good longevity kickers over all the time it has existed, so a success at this point would be just to pile on enough reps that Datsum would be mentioned when talking about 'kickers' in a general sense for the history of the NSFL moving forward.
I have no plans to build a 3rd sim league bank so I know that datsums earning potential will be limited to completing all his tasks and using any spare contract money to potentially buy any off equipment. I have moments where I do feel like doing some media, so who knows down the road, but I think I am aiming for at least 10 seasons at the NSFL level whenever I am called up to start my career (Hopefully no longer than after my 2nd season in the DSFL as regression here hits hard and fast).
I went power kicker this time around because worse case if I don't seem to really be strong at the field goal end of the game, I would love to at least challenge for the greatest punter of all time.
