Tier 2 Task 7
I’m very happy with the start to Goku’s career, it’s been amazing. I managed to fluke out an Ultimini with Myrtle Beach waiver claiming me for the end of S21. For S22 after being drafted to Kansas City who were the runners up the previous season, they didn’t do too well. They tied for last in the league due to being gutted from call ups. Fortunately to myself, this had no impact on Goku’s individual performance. As a DE my stat line during my first full season was: 85 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 2/1 FF/FR, and 9 sacks. With this I went on to win the Defensive Lineman of the Year award. I also received a nomination for Defensive Player of the Year, but was strangely left off the ballot for Defensive Rookie of the Year. I can only guess my year was so great that the awards committee didn’t realize I was a rookie.
From here, I hope to be an early call up to the NSFL starting next season. It seems like as a DE, this is the likely case for most teams that would draft me. Although if I’m back down in the DSFL I would hope to defend my award title next season and take another crack at defensive player of the year. Moving up to the NSFL early might hurt my stats initially but it gives me more time to work towards long term goals. First and foremost, my biggest and most obvious goal is winning the Ultimus. I will do what I can as a user to give myself the best chance at winning one over Goku’s career. Next, I have basic but difficult, and also a silly goal to complete at least once each over my career. The basic one is to score a touchdown as a defensive player. It might never happen but it’s something I’ll hope for. My silly goal is to get a sack on Chika Fujiwara at some point, assuming Baltimore doesn’t draft me.
After these ones, I have all long term goals that would be a cherry on top. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to have a Hall of Fame career as it would depend more on sim luck, but this would be my second favorite thing to happen aside from an Ultimus win. I hope at the least to be top 10 in some DE stats by the end of my career. The position doesn’t seem too populated and maybe as a strong earner I’ll be able to make this happen.
Tier 2 Task 8
I’ve been here for about two and a half months so far and it’s been a great experience overall. Being my third league I’ve taken a less serious approach and it’s been a blast. I’m actually more active overall in the community in NSFL over PBE due to hanging out in the league discord sometimes. I feel that creating as Goku will keep me more interested in the league, especially as there is a few other Dragonball renders. I’ve met some new people and been able to interact with other that I’d seen around other leagues but never talked to much. Big shoutout to the guys at KCC, they’re doing a great job. @`Jackets28` @Buttersqauch101 @Matty7478 I enjoy the atmosphere there and feel like there’s stuff I could learn to improve my SMJHL team’s LR. Huge thank you to Butters for going to bat for me over the DROTY award. As I’m not familiar with football, I can’t exactly comprehend how well I did, all I know is I had an exceptional season. It’s also been a pleasure to share a team with @dieselj123 He’s the pitcher I look up to in PBE and I’ve enjoyed being able to chat with him.
The DSFL draft was a great time. I was sad that not every team scouted me, but I guess they assumed I already had ties to Myrtle Beach at the time and didn’t want to touch me. Heading into this draft, it would be my fourth sim league draft. I didn’t bother to push to raise my draft stock, and instead tried to lower it so I would fall a little. I suppose it worked as I’ve gone first round in each of my previous drafts, but slid to 15th overall in the second round for the DSFL draft. I took a similar approach when dealing with NSFL scouts but it doesn’t look like I’ll make it out of the first round. I really loved the production of the draft, it’s great to watch. The draft for this league is hands down the best from a viewer’s perspective of each league I’m in.
For stuff to implement I will take this opportunity to plug the stuff I try to be vocal about. Please get rid of the admin approval before posting upon account creation. I feel like there must be a story behind this as nowhere else has it, but it’s annoying and a potential deterrent for new players. Also please bring back 2x media for us peasants without real jobs. I understand it was abused in the past but a simple implementation of like a 750 or 1000 word minimum and it can be fixed.
