Much has happened in the offseason in Sarasota. After the retirement of Rose Jenkins it wasn‘t for Zack Vega to get another chance. Dexter Banks II, former top receiver, will take over under center now. The coaching staff and he himself saw the potential of him switching to QB and what it brings to the team. He is surprisingly good with his hands and quick as ever. Another year without a top-notch QB would also have lowered Banks chances on racking up receiving stats. With his quickness, he is poised to not only being a passing threat, but also gaining yardage on the ground. This brings another aspect to the Sailfish offense. Gordon steps up as WR1, and this is something that perfectyl fits him, with being already an elite wideout in the league. Besides Witheblock, TE James Angler and Clark Boyd will make their debut in the league. Watch out for James Angler, this big target will make the work of Banks much easier. He is a sleeper at TE and may be in contention for OROY. With some really good RBs entering the league, it may be hard for him though to win it. On the defensive side of the ball, 3 of 4 DLiner retired. Steco Ocewilder is the only one remaining. But Cuco Clemente – a senddown last season – and freshly drafted Son Goku and Mike Karpaasi will make up for the losses. Watch out for them, they will perform from day 1. In the backfield, Raphael d‘Alcott will make up for the surprising retirement of Ragnar Rok. He is another rookie who will show that he‘s ready for the big stage already.
Although some surprising losses and changes were made in Sarasota, this team has very good chances to make the playoffs again. And this very young team will only continue to grow stronger throughout the season.
