The Butchers season last year wasn't exactly what you'd call sucessful. They finished 1-12, their lone win a 9-5 scorigami over the Sailfish didn't do much except produce a statistical oddity. Are the Butchers a failed team? Well, if you take everything at face value you could be forgiven for pointing and laughing but, inside the locker room and the GM office, the Butchers have been working hard to rebuild and create a winning team. Last season saw the release and trade of a number of declining vets in favour of young blood. A strong draft by the front office gave us the start of a defence that could win championships. Another strong draft this season and the call-up of a future great QB to support the offense is evidence that the rebuild is in full swing and working. So many players in the Butchers are young, lower TPE but, critically, so many are updating regularly and with high engagement. The locker room is a positive place to be, player initiatives to help each other max earn, encouragement and good vibes are rife. I think it's clear to see that The Butchers will be under-estimated this season and, while it might take one more strong draft from our front office team to really make the team pop, we're definately on the right track. Who knows, we might even see those flashes of brilliance start too leak through into this season.
