The Sarasota Sailfish seemed to shock the league when they made it to the playoffs last season. Sadly, their hopes were cut short by the future champions, the Colorado Yeti. But, the team immediately began organizing in order to meet and surpass these new expectations for this season. The loss of Johnny Blaze at TE and Ragnar Rok at S would land a blow to the team, but the new blood brought in from the DSFL callups was enough to reenergize the locker room. On the offensive, Blaze has been replaced by James Angler and Clark Boyd, while now-retired DE Mike Franchet has been replaced by Mike Karpassi and Son Goku, both of whom look very promising. DT Freezer Riposte, who also retired, was replaced by Cuco Clemente. This bolstered defense should prove to hold the team up in trying times. The main concern the Sailfish have going forward is their offensive power. Holdovers Dax Frost, Rayne Gordon, and Michael Witheblock still stand tall, and the addition of James Angler and Running Back should give the offense plenty of options. The only question that remains is: How will Dexter Banks II hold up at QB? The recently repositioned receiver could very well be the missing link that holds the Sailfish back from playoff success. Only time will tell.
