[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Everest Teagarden[/div]
In an absolutely loaded inaugural draft class, it’s difficult to sift the pretenders away from the contenders. With so many players sitting in the same boat and very little time having passed to determine whose the real deal or not, many teams find themselves scrambling to get in their pre draft research. One name that bears watching is that of young defensive end Everest Teagarden. While his name is only starting to make the rounds recently, he may be the one player you don’t want to pass over come draft day.
Pros
Teagarden has prototypical size and athleticism for someone at his position. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing in at 280lbs, Teagarden looks like an absolute monster running around the field on gameday. His athleticism reminds you of a Von Miller or JJ Watt type of athlete. He’s one of those players that was just blessed at birth with the type of talent that others can only dream of. His versatility will likely come in handy for some coach out there come next season. While Teagarden is primarily a down lineman coming of the edge, he also has the speed and ability to drop back into the OLB role and play coverage.
Cons
Teagarden is often seen as an emotional player that can sometimes let his emotions get the best of him. One major knock against him has been his knack for getting flagged during high intensity moments during the game. It was noted during Teagardens senior year at TCU, that opposing team would attempt to bait the monster pass rusher into committing penalties, knowing that he lacked the discipline to back down when needed. While Teagardens commitment to football can’t be questioned, some wonder about his off the field issues that continue to rise now and again. The most notable incident appeared in Teagardens junior season when he was arrested for assaulting another TCU student at a college party. While charges where never filed, it’s left many questioning whether or not Teagarden could be a problem child down the road.
Projected draft spot- Teagarden is a first round talent who could slip to the 2nd or 3rd round do to his off the field issues and hot head.
