I joined the league shortly before the DSFL draft was meant to take place, to be honest, I didn’t even know there was a draft when I first joined. The build-up consisted mainly of trying to get my player prepared for the draft and try to learn as much as I possibly could so I didn’t go into this blind. I was also in communication with some scouts that were interested in me. The awesome part about this was the fact they helped me prepare for the draft as well seeing as how this could potentially not only benefit them but also me.
Originally, I was concerned that not only would I be taken in the draft, but that I wouldn’t end up on a team at all. One thing that reassured me was the interest shown in me by the Grey Ducks association. I was also open to a position change which seemed to help raise my draft stock at the time. Finally, the day came I was nervous and excited; I wasn’t sure where I would end or who I would end up with, but I was hoping by this point to land with the Grey Ducks. Then it happened with the 34th pick in the S23 draft I was picked up by the Minnesota Grey Ducks. I was excited and relieved it was the ideal situation that I was hoping for and it came to fruition.
