Ah the S22 NSFL Draft. What a draft it was. Most stacked class in NSFL history, sporting over 280 players, and I was one of them. Going into the draft, it was regarded that I was one of the top wide receiver prospects in the class, along with two others. William Lim and fellow Coyote Michael Witheblock. Both outstanding players and deserving of a high draft selection. As it happened on the day however, us wide receivers tumbled down, as the defensive needy teams, which was every team, feasted on the buffet of talent there was on offer. The third round came round, and I felt strongly that this was the round I’d be taken. Halfway through, Honolulu is on the clock. Then Commissioner Bex announces a trade! The Austin Copperheads acquire the selection through a mighty trade. An S23 1st and 2nd, plus a S22 7th, in return for the S22 3rd and an S23 2nd. Austin was a team openly looking for a top talent in the receiver position, and I had felt very strongly about my interviews with the GMs and had a blast in the scouting locker room. And there it was! I was selected with the 31st overall selection to the Austin Copperheads, with the honour of being the first WR to be selected that draft. It was a superb feeling and I was thrilled to be part of such a great team and start my career.
