Doug Howlett was a max earner that was overlooked for multiple reasons one being his new face in the league. Being a new addition to sim leagues and unsure if this was going to be a worthy investment it is understandable to have had Doug lower on draft boards as well as his inability in willing to switch positions it cornered the receiver in a hard position.
In his first season in the DSFL he spent his time behind the #1 WR in the league and in Tijuana, Fred Vequain. He was also competing for touches with the fantastic J.Kingston but still managed to break top 5 in eligible draftees in stats for wide receiver at the end of the season. Unfortunately, Doug Howlett was also entering a draft with 10~ fantastic options at the receiver position in what is already an occupied role throughout the NSFL aside from a handful of teams. Howlett was eventually drafted in the third round at selection 8 by the Baltimore Hawks. Considering all things, including Howletts involvement in the league, earnings and TPE it is a fair draft position. IF YOU"RE AN IDIOT? What a heckkken steal by Baltimore. A max earning receiver, willing to spend a couple extra seasons in the DSFL if need be and opted for low deals? That's an early/mid third round selection right there.
Baltimore got a steal in Howlett and even though they're stacked at receivers right now in Kaepercolin, Kross and Quinn, he will be at 500~ TPE by the time he gets called up becoming an instant contributor to the Hawks receiving core.
