Ah the draft. For the purposes of this exercise I'll focus on my DSFL Draft, as I had a pretty good idea of where I was going for the NSFL Draft.
The weeks leading up to the DSFL were incredibly stressful for me. I had several teams who had expressed real interest in me, and I was really focused on going to the right one. Dallas had the second overall pick, and I knew they were interested and might take me there. Likewise, Tijuana had the fourth overall pick and having been a waiver pickup for them the season prior I was pretty confident they'd consider me there as well.
What I never expected was the team with the first overall pick to consider me, London. I had several conversations with one of their scouts, but felt I couldn't be on their radar given the large amount of really good recreates in our draft class. I had even had a GM suggest I temper my expectations for the draft given how many other previous and current GMs were in the draft.
Regardless on the night of the draft, the stream began and Bex announced with the first overall pick London selected Greedy Sly. I was shocked. I was immediately welcomed in to the London locker room, and haven't left since. While it was a surprise, it was easily the best outcome for me, and I can't imagine being anywhere else!
