Simeon Works was on edge for the S22 draft. He didn't have the best showing in the DSFL stat-wise but he definitely showed a competitive edge and relentless pursuit for glory. He started draft morning by having his favorite breakfast - steak and eggs with hot sauce. Then he got a light workout in and headed over to the practice facility at his alma mater, the University of Alabama. He then got ready with his flashiest suit and bling and headed down to the draft arena. He met his family and girlfriend and took his seat. He waited round after round and didn't hear his name called. Many defensive ends went off the board before Simeon but he kept his head up. His fellow Royals teammate, Ryeu, was selected pretty high. Many other Royals went high in the draft as well. Simeon just tried to stay positive and his friends and family kept supporting him with words of encouragement. Finally, in the 7th round, the Chicago Butchers traded up to select Simeon Works with the 9th pick of the round. Simeon was just happy to have a shot and put in a bunch of work for his rookie season. He went on to set a franchise record for tackles for loss in season with 17.
