Luke looked at his checkbook, confused. “I thought I had money left in my account!” he said, frustrated. How have I overdrawn by $500k?”
This banker nodded sagely on the other side of a formidable wooden desk. “Yes, we see this problem frequently with the younger players.” He pivoted his computer around to show Skywalker the screen. “You see here, this is where your deposits are made, and here, this is where your withdrawals are made. It seems as though your withdrawals didn’t process until a month after you made them.”
Luke looked shocked. “But where are my deposits? I thought I was getting money for social media promotions!”
The banker grinned. “Well, that you have to be more understanding of. There are a lot of players in the league, especially if you consider ISFL and the DSFL. It’s obviously going to take time to go through everyone’s twitter accounts.”
“Fine, fine,” Luke grumbled. “But shouldn’t there be some sort of change for withdrawals? Shouldn’t those automatically process? Isn’t there some sort of website or software system where you can go in and immediately process withdrawals?”
The banker sighed. “I’ll look into it,” he said, “but unless you’re volunteering to make one, it might be difficult.”
Luke laughed. “I don’t think I have the tech savvy to make anything. But I get your point. Well, maybe in the future someone can get around to it. Well, thank you for the information.”
The banker nodded and stood up to offer his hand. “Same time next week?” he asked.
“Sure thing, Granddad,” Luke said as he gave his granddad their signature handshake. "Love you. See you then!"
