My first game in the ISFL (then NSFL) was against the Chicago Butchers. I had to sit out the preseason with an injury so my first experience on the big stage would have to be where it really counted... no practice runs, no previous experience against all of these big-time players. The Sailfish would not kick off until the second half so I did not even get the opportunity to start out the game that way. My first time kicking the ball would be for actual points and have actual consequences. On 4th and Goal in the 1st quarter from the Chicago 13 yard line... the 30 yard Field Goal... IS GOOD!! I was ecstatic! I do not know what my mind would be like now if I had missed that field goal, but it was good and that was all that mattered! Later in the 1st quarter, I had my second opportunity and the 24-yard field goal split the uprights as well! I got a few great punts in as well including a 69 yarder... NICE! It wasn't until the 4th quarter when the opportunities for extra points came to fruition, but without a doubt, I drilled both of those as well. I ended my first game in the ISFL 2/2 on FG's and 2/2 on XP's. You can't get a much better start than that!
