As many of you know, Monday night was the start to the ISFL's regular season. For the Colorado Yeti it was the start of a potential new empire as they made major splashes in both free agency and the draft and were ready to make another run at an Ultimus. Unfortunately shortly before the game they learned one of their top free agents, Adelie de Pengu, did not arrive for the game. He had been sent to Antarctica to visit with his family and upon attempting to return, he came down with a vicious case of bird flu. For this reason he was unable to make the return trip and it forced the Yeti to start the season without one of their star players. Luckily they still won in dominant fashion over the visiting Chicago Butchers. The game got ugly in the first half and Colorado never looked back as they completely stomped them. After the game the coach could be heard giving a rousing speech in the locker room where he explained to the team that if they were that good without a top player, they would be even better once Adelie made it back to the team. This was hopefully a sign of things to come and Adelie set at home cheering on his team and hoping they could build on this success.
