This one happened to me way back when I first joined the league forums. I wouldn't consider myself an old fart, but new programs and apps (such as discord) aren't my specialty. I signed up for the league and was patiently waiting for the DSFL GMs to reach out to me for scouting. A couple days passed and still nothing. I thought to myself, "This is weird". Then one of the GMs finally reached out to me via the forums a day before the draft. They basically said, "hey we reached out to you on Discord, but didn't get a response, so we're reaching out here now." I frantically logged into Discord and saw I had DMs from just about every DSFL team. Oops. I responded to all them via their Discords and apologized for the delayed responses blaming my app illiteracy. However, the damage was pretty much done. I think I was seen as a high risk, potentially inactive user. This lead to me falling pretty far in the draft and had me listed as the WR3 for the Royals to start the year. I was upset, but I understood why I fell and why I was low on the depth chart. The first thing I was told was to work hard and improve. I did just that and became the 6th overall pick in last years ISFL draft. I think this is an important lesson to all those rookies who fell in the most recent DSFL draft. Reach out to your team leaders, ask about how you can improve your draft stock, and get all the TPE you can.
