So I do graphics for Pro Baseball Experience mainly for the stream. And generally, I like it. And people are usually positive about the stuff I produce. My homerun graphic is my high point, and I will never achieve beyond the greatness that it is.
Anyways, so I was tasked with doing the slide show for the end of season awards. And I thought I would do a big fancy slide show. The thing ended up being like 78 slides in total. It was huge. And I did everything in photoshop-- and that was my first, of mistake.
I had a week to complete it, and I had people (juosu) tell me that getting the info out cleanly was more critical than a fancy-looking slide show. Well, to hell with that I thought, I am two hundred and nine tacos, I will do whatever the F I want.
Well, I should have done that.
This thing ended up taking me almost a full week. I did a separate slide for every player who won. AND If a player won an award and didn't have a sig on the site, I made them one, which added several unnecessary extra hours of work.
Anyways, I finish it and get it to the streamers. And everyone looks at it and tells me how amazing it looks. And m like "hell yeah it is"
Well, the slide show was a shit show—tons of misspellings and worse of all MISSING SLIDES!!
OMG. I was so embarrassed. I was at work listening to the stream and... it was so bad. I am probably overthinking how terrible it was. But I was very disappointed in myself mainly because I spent so much time making everything only to have it kind of blow up in my face.
I am going to do things differently next time. I will start earlier and have someone give it a once over before I hand it over. But the main thing is not to try to do the WHOLE thing in photoshop.
