Everyone knows that Mo Mamba was a star defensive linemen in high school, and in college (University of British Columbia), but not many people know that during his five years of high school, he also mastered another position – Offensive Tackle. It wasn’t until senior year of high school did he know that Defensive Linesman would the position the would pursue into the ISFL (nee NSFL). Until then, he actually played and practice both full time. He was even getting scouted by some pretty big name schools to play OL for them. It wasn’t too long ago that Magic was learning all about pass protection footwork, and hand positioning. I think he would argue that it made him a round 1 ISFL defensive talent.

However, it has made this offseason much easier for Magic. Now that he has transitioned to play LT for his ISFL team, those hours doing hard and footwork drills don’t feel so silly. In fact, it’s made Magic one of the better linesmen in the league, judging by his first quarter of the season. Sources say that Magic even linked up with high former high school coaches during the offseason, and flew them to training camp with him so that he could get their help. With rumours that Michael Magic is next in line for the Colorado gig, could these be tell tale signs of his first moves?
