The new member of the London Royals backfield Steven Wadham stock is on the rise following a solid debut in the DSFL week one win over the Minnesota Grey Ducks. The rookie looked solid positionally but was not called into action too often in a game where the Royals dominated possession. The rookie's inexperience was exposed when the Royals gave up an 82 yard run for a touchdown in the 4th quarter. Wadham missed a tackle that led to the run. When interviewed after the game Wadham said "I got my angles wrong and overcommitted. Maybe it was just the excitement of getting my first career tackle led me to be a bit rash. I'll learn from this and come back stronger."
From seemingly out of nowhere, Wadham is pushing to become a fixture in the safety corps for the London Royals. The next challenge for the Royals and Wadham will be their upcoming match, facing off against the Portland Pythons. Wadham has been training hard and hopes he can rack up some tackles and help the team to another win, maintaining their perfect start to the season. Wadham is one to watch over the coming weeks as he continues to work hard with the coaches and learn from the veterans around him.
