Although I’m likely a bit biased, I would say that the Sabercats are one of the teams with the highest rising stocks in the league. While Sarasota is likely the most obvious candidate for biggest show out team this year, I think that the early success of the Sabercats is quite impressive as well. I don’t believe it to be dishonest that the ASFC is often the more competitive of the two divisions, especially in recent history. Being in the same division as the most successful team in the league, the Orange County Otters, makes showing out as a competitive team all the more difficult. Although San Jose has had a recent hiccup in their season in their loss to Chicago, seeing that just the week before we were leading the division has me very hopeful for the rest of the season and a possible shot at the playoffs. We’ve been able to beat both the Otters and the Second Line this year, with our victory against New Orleans being at home. Our only division loss was against the Hahalua, but that was a game that was only decided by a field goal. Actually, all of our three losses have been decided by 7 points or less. Given the frequency of sim shenanigans I’m confident that those losses could have been wins on a different day. I’m excited to see how this season plays out.
