Looking at the Grey Ducks roster in search of award worthy performances, I dont have to look very far.
Offensively the choices are limited, Snowbow and the air attack have been Lackluster. The running game however, has been a bright spot. Vermillion could be in the running for Offensive rookie of the year, rushing for 292 yards on 58 carries with 3 touchdowns to boot. Rotchburns is right next to Vermillion in each category with 58 carries and 291 yards with 2 touchdowns. Those are the two Offensive players who could be considered for awards, altgough the competition at running back is fierce, and Minnesotas two backs might not have enough. The season is still young though so they have time to turn up the gas.
On the Defensive side of the ball I think the Grey Ducks have at least two guaranteed award winners. Chainbreaker has made his case and in my opinion LOCKED in defensive player of the year. He has devastated opposing offenses with 42 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and much to the dismay of quarterbacks around the league, 4 sacks. He has been hammering opposing quarterbacks, and disrupting rushing attacks all year and still has time to cement his claim even further. The other Grey Duck on defense who I think is a lock for an award is Wasrabi Gleel. He has made a very strong statement that he should be defensive rookie of the year. He has made an impact in every aspect of the ball defensively, with 31 tackles, two tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 3 pass defenses, and an interception. He has done so much defensively and will undoubtedly improve tremendously before seasons end.
There are many other ducks who can turn up the heat in the next half of the season and really push to make a claim for awards, but right now, the only two in my mind who are guaranteed are Chainbreaker and Gleel, a feared duo that makes up the strongest links in the leagues best linebacker corps.
