Oh hey look, an opportunity to talk about myself! I think Gunner Thorbjornsson has an opportunity to win wide receiver of the year down in the DSFL. He is tied for 1st in receptions for WRs with 21 (only Rigby Raccoon has more and he is listed as FB). He is 2nd in yardage with 305, which is 15 yards behind league leader Howlett. Where he lacks is the voters favorite stat, touchdowns. Unfortunately, Gunner has only caught 1 this season, 4 off the pace of the league’s best. Despite a pass heavy offense where the play count stands at 160 passes to 116 rushes, the Royals offense is even on touchdowns with 4 passing and 4 rushing. It has been a struggle finding the endzone this year. They are 3rd in the league (1st in their conference) in total yards but 7th in the league (4th in their conference) in points scored. The Royals offense will need to start finding pay dirt more if they want to continue to win games. The building blocks are there, they just need to execute better in the offensive half of the field. If the Royals offense can start finding the endzone more, some of those should fall into Gunner’s hands. He’s well on pace for over 1000 yards. If he can get his touchdowns up to 7, he will have a great shout for WRotY.
