There are many awards that stand the test of time. Many fine candidates for individual honors litter the league. But among the London Royals one particular candidate stands above the rest. The London Royals should be a favorite for the Ultimini. Sure. Others may suggest an individual honor. But the team deserves to be considered for this award. While some may scoff at the 3-3 record, more sharp eyed viewers will note that the team has already played several of its toughest games on its schedule. We handed Norfolk its only loss so far and came seconds from upsetting Tijuana in their home. We beat Dallas so badly we defined their identity. That unimpressive 3-3 is actually a lot more steady than it looks and this team is a lot better than its early schedule makes it seem. Basically the best defense in the league so far, barring a slight edge some may give to a Norfolk team who had it easy for 5 of 6 games. Our offense continues to grow, having its best two outings in the past few weeks. London just keeps pushing and getting stronger as the season goes on. And its because we aren't focused on whether a particular player should be considered this of the year or that of the year. The team wants to win.
