I think that the player with the best odds of winning an award on my Chicago Butchers would be star LB Mike Hockhertz. Coming off a great season in S23, he is doing it again in S24. He wasn't recognized last season, even though he filled up the stat sheet. I think that he would have to be in the running this season for Linebacker of the Year, or possibly even Defensive Player of the Year. Mike Hockhertz is in second place in the league in tackles - he's only two tackles behind the first place guy, Dex Kennedy of the Baltimore Hawks (who is a former teammate of mine from the Minnesota Grey Ducks, QUACK). Along with the volume in the tackle column, he has had some success in other areas of the field, though not as much as some other candidates. That fact may hurt his case a bit. However, he does have one sack, one interception, and three passes defensed. I think that all of these things make a case for LB Mike Hockhertz having a chance to win Linebacker of the Year. There is at least one other player that I think deserves some award consideration on the Chicago Butchers, and that is wide receiver Sean O'Leary.
