For predicting awards, instead of going the route of awards that correspond to a per game basis, I thought Id dive into the award race that can change at any given week, and that the offensive and defensive performance of the year awards. And without diving in too much into what are the very best performances that I may have missed, there are two that certainly caught my eye and I think are at the very least very much in the race for these awards. The first is the offensive performance award and so far to me, that belongs to San Jose runningback, Jamar Lackson. In Week 4, San Jose had a bitter loss to the Hahalua, losing by 3 in a massive scoring game that ended 40-37. But in this game, Lackson scored every touchdown for his team. That’s 5 touchdowns in one game. While he didn’t amass the yards that you’d expect to go along with 5 touchdowns, that kind of performance is sure to be one of the leagues best this season. On the defensive side of the ball I look to league vet and teammate, Dermot Lavelle Jr. Cornerback for the Copperheads. Now usually it’s the players on offence that score the touchdowns, but in week 8, Lavelle took not one, but two to the house. Once on a kick return and the other a pick six. That along with 2 PDs and 4 Tackles is one hell of a performance.
