Quote:Written Option: S24 is nearly halfway over, and that means that the races for award season have begun in earnest. In 200 words or more, describe one or more players on your team (which can include yourself) and why you think that they are currently in contention for a particular award. Are their stats on pace to break records, or are they simply leading the pack? Is their efficiency or volume noteworthy? Would they possibly contend for one of the major awards as well?
Look at the portland pythons I think we have a few players who stand out and could be spoken about in reference to the award race.
The first one has to be the quarterback Sam Howitzer. Howitzer is tied for first in the league on touchdowns, but only has 2 interceptions against Covington III's 5 on 12 touchdowns. 4th in yards, 3rd in completion rate and 2nd in quarterback rating is nothing to snuff at. Just showing how effective he is on only 4th in yards.
Korbin Brown sits 5th in yards for receivers and tied in 1st tie in touchdowns with 6 on the season so far. A little concern is his avg yard, but with a bit of work he can turn that around and solidify his bid for receiver of the year.
Puesdo QB currently is the only kicker to still have a perfect field goal year with 15 attempts and 15 made. This also puts him on top of the field goal list while rocking the 100%. QB sits 4th in extra points with 18 attempts and 17 made, which could hurt a bid, but if he keeps up the field goals I think they could carry him to a kicker of the year award.
Donald McBobby is having himself quite the season so far. 46 tackles with a tackle for loss and 5 sacks, 1 int and 3 deflected passes. As a rookie coming into the DSFL McBobby is producing some solid numbers which could put him in contention for defensive rookie fo the year. With 5 sacks in 7 games if he keeps his QB pressure up no doubt you will see him receiving an award.
