I think Nicholas Ayers should be the recipient of the offensive of rookie of the year award this season. He has been nothing short of incredible and looks on pace to put up nearly 1200 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards this season. I don’t think it’s realistic to consider him a running back of the year candidate, but I believe he’s a pro bowler as a rookie and the most dangerous offensive rookie by far, considering he accumulated these stats splitting time with a higher TPE RB.
The committee has worked well so far for Honolulu, as they have one of the better rushing attacks in the ISFL this season. Ayres has been a pleasant surprise that Honolulu was hoping could be a contributor this year, but he’s turned into much more. Opposing defenses are having a very difficult time stopping Ayers speed from both the slot and from out of the backfield. Look for him to grow into a dangerous kick returner in the future as well, as he should surpass KKM in this regard, and I’d expect we see their roles begin to swap as their careers continue. KKM will become more of a receiving threat and Ayers will win rushing titles. This offense is poised to be dominant in a few seasons once their young weapons become veterans.
