The London Royals have struggled to say the least. They headed into this season with a ton of hype and expectations but have fallen flat with a 3-4 record. Luckily for them that still qualifies them as tied for first place with two other teams at the mid way point. While the Royals may not be performing up to expectation they do have a couple of defenders that are squarely in the Defensive Player of the Year Award race. The first of those is linebacker Juan Domine. Domine is an elite level prospect and he is playing at an elite level on the field having a tie for the league lead in sacks with 6. To go along with that is a respectable 52 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, and an impressive 5 pass deflections. He is showing capable of not only playing at the line of scrimmage and rushing the passer but also dropping back and covering tight ends at a high level. Look for Domine to be a strong contender the rest of the way. The next guy would be fellow linebacker and elite prospect in Busch Light. Light is right on his tail in the sacks department with 5 which is good for second place. He has also racked up more tackles with 60 but only one tackle of loss. He does have a pass deflection and fumble recovery to his name as well. While Dominate has a slight edge on Light it is not out of reach and a strong push could have Light leap frogging Domine as well as the rest of hte league in the Defensive Player of the Year Award.
