Rich Triplet was a D2 stud at Minnesota State, having a star-studded career at the smaller school Rich was ready to make a huge impact in the DSFL. Going in the second round was a surprise for Rich due to his small school and not much hype associated with him pre-draft. However, he made sure the Tijuana Luchadores did not regret their pick. In their first preseason game against the Norfolk Seawolves Rich had snagged an interception and brought the ball back for 50 yards and for six. It looked to be a big game for Rich and made him look like a surefire pick. Despite a solid preseason and a good opening to the season against Dallas and Myrtle Beach, Rich’s welcome to the DSFL moment happened against Kansas City, matching up against the second overall pick Joshua Campbell. Rich got burned for over one hundred receiving yards against Campbell and a pair of touchdown grabs. The team played their heart our and brought the game to overtime but a late pick from quarterback Mike Boss JR in OT lead to a hard loss. Rich has put a lot of the blame on himself but used it as motivation to get better. Since this moment Rich has gotten his first regular season interception and the Tijuana defense is one of the best in the league during crunch times. Rich will forever remember that first loss in the professional league as the moment he wasn’t the best player on the field anymore, as he had been since high school but just another piece on defense trying to work as a unit.
