Reflecting back on the Career of Slinky Claxton, it has been quite the adjustment in going from College to the ISFL. A series of games that really sums it up in particular happened in the Post-Season last year. It would be Claxton’s Rookie season in the ISFL and it seemed as though he was finally hitting his stride and coming into the player that many hoped he would become. In the Wildcard playoff game against the Second Line, Claxton would go off. He would have 10 tackles and 2 sacks in the game helping the Copperheads advance in a nice victory. It seemed as though Claxton would hit another gear and become quite a weapon in the playoffs. The next week in the ASFC Championship game, Claxton would not even record a single tackle. Fortunately, the Copperheads would still pull out the victory taking them to the NSFL Ultimus game. In the Ultimus, again, Claxton was nowhere to be found, not even recording a tackle. If this doesn’t sum up the ISFL, I am not sure what does. Claxton has learned that he should always expect the unexpected and just when one thing works out doesn’t mean that everything will. He is using that mentality in Season 24 and even if it doesn’t work out for the Copperheads, Claxton seems to be taking everything one game at a time. Also not taking anything for granted whether its coming off of a big win or a big game.
