As I’ve told everyone here countless times, I was mostly IA for my first DSFL season. I was drafted at something like 71 TPE. After being drafted by the Chicago Butchers, I decided that I was going to turn it around and be an active member of the league (best choice I’ve made in the last year!). I was talking to Bayley, the GM of Chicago, and he told me that if I started earning well, that I would be called up to play corner for the Butchers after my next season. I wanted to be ready for this when the time came, so I nearly instantly became a max earner. I even bought T6 equipment! However, as you know, you can only earn so much… I didn’t even end up reaching the 250 TPE cap in my DSFL career before I was thrown to the wolves of the then NSFL. It was a huge change. Everyone in the ISFL is bigger, faster, and stronger than the players in the DSFL. There was an adjustment period, considering I was still under 300 TPE when my season started. I needed to be better if I wanted to run with the big dogs all season. However, I did everything I could to narrow the gap between me and the better players, including buying T6 again and max earning to the best of my abilities. After that short adjustment period, I turned it around and performed very well. Surprising everyone, I finished the year third in the *entire league* in tackles, and second in PDs among rookies. I was a Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate! Though I only received 7 votes, it was still an honor. I also got a Pro Bowl nod. So don’t give up. Just keep working and you’ll get to where you want to be, sometimes sooner than you expect!
