(S24) - PT 4 - Trial by Fire

Though Albert Ruschmann's career has been a short one thus far, it certainly has not been an uneventful one. There have been many times already where Albert Ruschmann felt and probably also looked like a rookie. However, one particular one stands out. Leading up to the draft, I was simply trying to be as active of a user as possible, make a good impression on the scouts reaching out to me, and put out some media for a nice payday. I had no expectations of where I was going to go in the draft. Come draft night, I am excited to see where all of my fellow S25 members end up. The first few picks go by and then I hear it. I hear Albert Ruschmann's name get called 5th overall by the London Royals. This truly came as a shock to me and was definitely my "welcome to the league" moment. I had no expectations of even going in the first round, never mind in the top 5. London clearly believed in me and liked me enough to take me that high. That made me realize that things were serious and from that point on, my dedication to the league increased three-fold. While it has definitely been a season filled with learning and getting used to the jump in skill, I continue to improve each and every day.
