Throughout his career, Harrison Andrews has always been an exceptional athlete and been able to outperform his competition at multiple positions on the field. In his mind, switching to cornerback would be no different than any other position he had played so far. Andrews fully expected to hit the ground running and immediately begin locking down the opposing team’s #1 WR.
In the London Royals week 7 matchup with the Kansas City Coyotes, Andrews had his “welcome to the league” moment. He found himself facing off against Joshua Campbell, the second overall selection of the ISFL draft. Andrews often found himself trying to bring down Campbell one catch after another, but was unable to keep the receiver from coming down with the reception. Campbell went on to put up 8 catches for 79 yards and was able to get into the endzone once.
Andrews was able to harness the frustration he felt from that game and channel it into his training to become the best cornerback he can be. Since then, Andrews has fought his way to the top of the league in passes defended and has not allowed more than 53 yards to the opposing receiver since that game. With his performance so far in S24, many analysts have Andrews listed as a front-runner for DBotY.
