Day one in Baltimore and the team is separated into position groups. That means the newly minted 5 Rookie O-Lineman are all together and working out. Koch, Lee, Pancake, Charles and Barksdale are all learning from the O-Line coach and getting ready for our first season. The two a day was very productive and players were impressed with the way the Line was getting along. Lee, given his high level draft position has emerged as a leader and is showing the other guys some tips he learned in college.
When bringing in 5 players at the same time who all played the same position in college, it is obviously going to breed some competition, but coaches were surprised at the immediate friendship and bonding between the new teammates. However there was some competition with the new rookies when the lineman noticed the skill position rookies Farlane, Masvidal, and Turner running a 40 yard dash race. Not to be outdone the O-Line all got down and started a pushup contest to see who could do the most. Again the winner of that competition is going be secretive, but one thing is clear, the Hawks Rookies look ready to become one of the best Offensive lines in the league.
