The most interesting thing about the league for me it's not the statistics or it's history...
But how people bonds with each other for everything, not only team or draft class but position as well.
In my short time here I had the pleasure to chat with tons of different people, with their different experiences, ideas and cultures.
And I have the privilege, no, the honor of meeting them, to learn from them things about the league and about things that has nothing to do with it at all.
Because... It's not the game what should take priority but the friends we make along the way. And they are the real reason we keep playing, and that ain't measurable.
How many times did you just smile to the screen or laugh while chatting derply with your team members?
Or how many times did you spoke at the rookie channel just because it was less threatening than the main league discord?
Once a gm told me "TPE ain't the reason we draft our players, or the position they play. We pick the person that's behind that".
This person might be anyone.
From an ausie kid that loves cricket.
To a packers fan in Argentina.
Or maybe it's a hardcore jets fan in Brooklyn or a Trans women in England.
We are different. Way more than anyone can see at first glance. But that uniqueness that we bring here it's what builds our community.
And being so I want to just use this space to remember some of the few experiences I had here.
The first one I would have to tell it was the moment I just created. Got invited by Simo to Kansas city lockeroom and there were a couple friends I previously had. After a quick roundup where I made my player and my rookie task, when a small conversation begun about metric and imperial systems... Yes it was dumb, it was really dumb, but for a minute we relaxed and enjoyed ourselves.
Or yesterday at london's lockeroom where people started helping each other to test and suggested changes to their builds trying to get better.
Yes those are just a couple moments of what has been barely a season, but for me it means a lot. It means so much because down here in Argentina we had a severe lockdown for sanitary reasons (hello covid) so all this proorly explained work helped me to continue with my real life, and that's why I want to write a bit about the people that makes me feel at better and helps me push through this hard times.
1) Felix Archstone - Offensive Lineman Kansas. I've met Felix on my second day on the league. Kinda weeb and dorky but with a golden heart and a super bright attitude that it's contagious. He is one of Kansas General managers and makes sure everyone is having the time of their lives. I doubt anyone there could be the same without him being around.
2) Harrison Andrews - Cornerback London.
Andrews it's the royals' personal football enciclopedia. A down to earth person that knows what he's talking about and loves the ncaa Florida gators over anything else. He's one of the reasons I am currently on London and i'ma super dedicated member that will go above and beyond just to be sure that everyone is doing well. Few times in my life I had a chance to meet such an interesting fellow (and one that makes any team click by his sole presence) can't really do more than shout out him and tell everyone this.
3)number three it's way more personal. Kotone Shiomi - Quarterback Kansas.
Shiomi it's probably my best friend at this point. We came here from the same league and since then I decided to make her my rival. She's the reason I push harder each day to be the best player on my class. Even if she doesn't know anything about football (or arm egg as she likes to call it) she's the person that will tell you to leave when she knows you had enough, even if you're trying to convince yourself otherwise. She's the person that will help you push as well.
4)Last but not least and the person I've spoken to the less of this list I'm gonna have to go with thevoiceofthevoiceless he's on Minnesota but honestly I never managed to learn about his player. All I know that he's a super fun guy that's usually up super late. He's the perfect person to speak to when someone has insomnia. But he's not boring at all, it's just relaxing to he around him, like of the time slows down for how chill he is. Not only that but he's someone that it's not afraid of asking and super polite. Yeah this might be rambling for someone in the league, that's for sure. Butt honestly I belive that this was the perfect moment to say thank you to each and every member of the community, because the simulation it's just an excuse. In my eyes the thing that makes this league such a special place. its the people that received me, a newbie with five games to go until the end of the season and decided they wanna be my friends.
As always, communities before all
