Ultimus Task #8
The Minnesota Grey ducks did not finish anywhere near the record I expected them to. With a final record of five wins and nine losses. We missed the playoffs and to be honest, that's not acceptable. We had the talent on our roster, but we just could not finish. There needs to be some major changes in the way we conduct our offense in order to be better as a team. For one, we need to get away from the run heavy offense and switch to a more passer friendly team. When you look at the top teams in the DSFL, you see that they can easily pass the ball and benefit from that style greatly. The top teams in each division, The London Royals and the Tijuana Luchadores, are first and second in passing yards. While the two top rushing teams, the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers and the Minnesota Grey Ducks, are third and fourth in their divisions. You can easily see the issue and it needs to be fixed soon or else the Minnesota Grey Ducks will not see an Ultimini, or even the playoffs for a long time. There is a lot of talent in this upcoming draft for these needs to be met. And with the Grey Ducks having the first overall pick, I think that these goals are obtainable. I do not think the Grey Ducks should abandon the run, but a more balanced offense is needed. The first thing that needs to happen is the Grey Ducks need to draft a reliable number one reciever. With quarterback Matt Peterson getting better each year, I feel like this is the best time for our offense to make the switch. I do not think much of our offense will be called up to the ISFL this year so with many of our offensive starters returning, this will be a good time for the Grey Ducks to make a playoff push. I should also mention that the Minnesota Grey Ducks have a new general manager in theCC. So far he seems to be very competent and ready to help make the ducks be the best team they can be. With theCC and Jamar Lackson, I feel very confident in our front office to make the decisions that will greatly impact our chances of winning. In conclusion, the Grey Ducks are going to be the team to look out for this year in the DSFL. With a returning quarter back, a first overall draft pick, and new leadership, I have strong faith that this organization will pull itself together and win an Ultimini!
Ultimus Task #13
I created my account here nearly two months ago and so far I have had a blast. Before joining I was pretty lonely to be honest. I didn't have many friends, I was home all the time and pretty depressed if I am being honest. This league has done so much for my self esteem that I really am a different person. I joined originally to find a fun hobby that I could enjoy, I really didn't expect to find so many amazing people that I can call my friends now. We actually started our own gaming server for the league that went from nine or ten people to over sixty now. I spend many of my nights here playing with many of the different league personnel. I think so far my best friends in the league are Frost, theCC, and Faded. Those 3 have been awesome but there have been so many more that I have bonded with and have had lengthy conversations with.
With one season under my players belt, Cleg Manclaw is going to be a force in the coming league years. It was awesome to see my player get better and better each week. I could just see his stats improving by a pretty significant amount each week, especially his catches. Cleg went from getting very little catches to almost becoming the lead receiver towards the end of the season. I hope this trend continues with Cleg but most importantly, Cleg wants pancakes. As a blocking tight end, my main goal is to flatten as many people as I can. Cleg finished his first season with 23 pancakes and only one sack allowed. This is less than what I expected him to get, but I know next season he will get a lot more than that. With the ISFL draft almost upon us, I hope Cleg can go to a team that he can help the most. I have been contacted by a few teams so far and to be honest, I hope an expansion team drafts me. It would be very exciting to play with a brand new team in the league. But I will make sure to play my hardest for any team that drafts me. I cannot really think of any changes I would make to the league. Now that I know what I am doing, there is not much to change. I will say there is a sort of steep learning curve if you have zero sim league experience, so any improvement to that would be awesome.
