"As an extra gesture, I DM'd Bex to tell her how much I respected her and how much of my frustration stemmed from knowing how much of an asset she was when we weren't fighting. That may not sound like much to the average reader, but Bex and I used to be quite friendly, from the moment she joined NSFL, and we'd even had some good moments in PBE. Hell, I had expressed romantic interest in her, and while the fights have demonstrated that we likely wouldn't be compatible, that fondness and respect never went away.
