The first team practice for the Philadelphia Liberty was likely much different than any other team’s first practice of S2. The Philadelphia Liberty have a team that is comprised mostly of S2 rookies, a whopping 16 of them in all. Due to the unique roster composition, many of these rookies would be asked to take on leadership roles in the locker room. Thankfully they all stepped up to the plate in that aspect. Guys like Micah Hendrix, Paul DiMirio, and Fox North have established themselves as go to guys for questions from other offensive rookies. On defense Tyler Oles, Kristoffer O’Sullivan, and Perry Tucker have taken control and really set the tone for what the team expects of their defensive players. Not to be out done, their veterans like Omar Wright and Stephen Harris have exceed all expectations and set the bar for all rookies to follow. With the players so heavily invested in the idea of building a champion from the ground up, it almost seems inevitable that one will be paraded through Philadelphia in the next few seasons. And the guys at the forefront of that parade will be the guys who were at the core of building the culture for this organization. Things are certainly looking promising for the Liberty, this season and beyond.
