The air is clear, the birds are chirping, the field is freshly cut...and Darlane Farlane is running like a madman. All the blocks are lining up, and even when it looks like a hole is closing - boom - he blows through at an alarming speed. Then a bubble screen to him, and he's nearly impossible to catch. This is just a practice, but dear god almighty this man can move. It's easy to get excited about the upcoming season, everything is clicking so far. Looks like the offense will come out as a reinvigorated unit. The rookie O-Linemen are doing work in the trenches and making a name for themselves. Farlane and Kyubee will be the most thankful for the line improvements, but it's just a welcome progression (and a much needed one) for the team overall. On defense, people are looking aggressive and plays are being recognized quickly. Hendrix is a standout as usual, and rookie Darnell Turner is impressing with lock down coverage and even coming down hard on run support. Reports after practice are making it sound like the Hawks may turn to a run-heavy offense, so that Kyubee can progress with less pressure on him. Probably a good strategy, and one that will work out, with the new line and starting RB.
