This past offseason, longtime kicker and punter Alfredo Crisco finally succumbed to regression and retired after 12 seasons in the league. He had a long and successful career, but one that I argue is NOT worthy of being in the Hall of Fame.

Here are Crisco’s stats:

There are only three kickers in the Hall of Fame to date, and one of them was a quarterback for half of his career. The other two, Turk Turkleton and Dean Jackson, lay claim to a bunch of kicking or punting records. They will almost certainly be joined by a fourth, Kulture Fulture, when he becomes eligible in a season or two. Fulture shares similar career stats to Crisco, but unlike Crisco, Fulture has 6 KOTY and 3 POTY awards, more medals than any other kicker in league history to this point. Crisco has the longest field goal record, but I don’t think that that is enough to overcome his lack of awards and pedestrian volume numbers.
