After 13 weeks, Honolulu find themselves with a 7-6 record with 3 games to play and in with a chance to secure a playoff spot. With the 3 remaining games all on the road, securing a playoff spot looks to be a challenge, however Honolulu has performed well on the road this season so securing a playoff spot isn't out of the question. Honolulu boasts the highest scoring offense in the league putting up 30.6 points per game, with quarterback Luke Skywalker leading the way, leading the league with 24 TDs in what has been an impressive sophomore campaign for the signal caller. His favourite target, the dynamic receiver Jed Podolak has already surpassed 1,100 yards this season and leads the league in receiving touchdowns with 14. It's fair to say that Honolulu's offense along with the ever reliable Venus Powers have been contributing factors to the team's success this season and are contributing factors as to why the team remains in the hunt for the playoffs.
With some turnover on defense with Banks, Kearse, Arianlancher and Noble Jr all leaving the past offseason, some fresh faces entered the fold. Losing those establish players certainly had an impact on the defense, with a reliance on rookies this season to fill those holes. There has been some growing pains, but the unit is filled with youth and is continuing to develop and improving week on week. While the offense has been able to get it done, the defense will need to step it up for any chance of securing a playoff berth. Honolulu will need to be firing on all cylinders needing the offense, defense and special teams to be at their best for the final 3 games of the season. As it stands, it appears that Honolulu will need 2 wins to get to 9-7 to make it into the playoffs. While it's a tough ask on the road, it's certainly not out of the question for the team that has managed to pull out wins on the road this season.
