The year for the Minnesota Grey Ducks has been an interesting one. There have been a lot of highs and lows to the season that I was not expecting as a rookie. As the season is wrapping up, I believe the Ducks are poised for a run at the playoffs. Sitting at 5-5, wear are one game behind the Kansas City Coyotes for a playoff spot. Our two final home games are against division rivals, Portland and Kansas City, and two away games. One of the away games will be tough against the league leading London Royals. However, we have a very winnable road game against the Norfolk Seawolves. Winning 3 out of 4 games has a chance to get us in. Win out, and we will most likely be in the playoffs. A strength of our team has been the run game and defense. Losing capped running back Vermillion hurt our chances a lot. However, RB Mike Rotchburns has been everything and more for the Ducks. With a new waiver wire RB coming in soon, the rush game looks to become stronger. The Ducks defense is nothing short of elite. They are allowing the second fewest points per game and also have been absolutely lockdown. NO FLY ZONE. In order to make the cut, we have to play well on offense. The new running back has to come in and be effective. I need to stop throwing interceptions and just protect the ball so our run game and defense can carry us to where we want to go. If we do not make the cut, we will need to work on our offense and replace elite contributors who will be called up next year. Go Ducks!
