Chicago is in a bit of a weird spot currently going into the playoffs. We haven’t clinched a spot just yet so we need to battle to make our way into there, but if we get into the playoffs it’s anyone’s game. While an Ultimus would be incredible and cap off a hell of a season for the Butchers, it’s realistically not going to happen. There are teams performing better and having home field advantage in the playoffs is literally gamebreaking. The goal for Chicago is to make it, and then win a game. Winning that game will be a world of help for the team. The team’s biggest strength this season has been the defense, aka the Meatgrinders. The defense was hurt by the loss of Mario Von Pebbles to expansion, but Von Hayes moving to the defensive line filled that gap incredibly, and the rest of the team continued to carry the defense to keep us in games whenever the offense would struggle. Chicago is in a great spot because there aren’t any glaring holes on the team that need to be filled, the team is youthful with minimal amounts of players hitting regression and as long as the players keep developing like they’re supposed to the Butchers are aiming for an Ultimus in a season or two.
