(S25) - PT 5 - Playoffs? You Kidding Me?

I guess in all technicality at the time of me writing this I'm not on a team. I just had Mendoza opt out of his contract with Austin. Realistically the goal of doing that was to sign a long-term mega deal with them. There's a sweet spot in the TPE/contract scale where if you re-sign long term after you pass 800 TPE but before you hit 1000 TPE you can have a mega deal that takes you through the seasons in which you'll be above 1000 TPE and not have a $5 million per season cap hit. Saves the team some money, and when I've got approximately $250 million over here that just makes sense.

Anyway I guess if I'm back with Austin next season we've got an outside shot at playoffs but I wouldn't say we're an Ultimus contender. We're really expecting that window to open up in Season 27. That being said, there's a decent chance I'm not back with Austin for at least Season 26 - there are talks of me signing a deal as a "loan" to another team. Some of the ones that have inquired about that availability are good teams and they'd have a much better shot at an Ultimus. We'll see though. Anything can happen.
