The Philadelphia Liberty had the stars align for them at the end of the season to sneak into the playoffs. We did not sneak into the playoffs as everyone did their part but us. In week 16 Baltimore had to lose, we had to win, and Chicago had to lose and score less than the sum of our score and seven. It happened, Sarasota beat Baltimore, and Yellowknife beat Chicago 22-16. Philadelphia scored 24 points in week 16 meaning we had the score tiebreaker, but there was one problem. We lost to Colorado 24-26. But this season was not a lost season, it can be looked at as something to build on. In our last 5 games we went 3-2, those 2 losses were by a combined 5 points. After starting the season with a 4-7 record, losing by an average of 13.6 points, that is a major improvement. The offense also improved in scoring passing TDs, 12 out of Brock Phoenix's 28 touchdown passes were in the final 5 games, that is an increase from 1.45 td passes/game in the first 11 games to 2.4 td passes/game in the last 5. The Philadelphia Liberty, while not making the playoffs finished very strong, their final game was against the #1 Colorado Yeti, and the Liberty lost to the Yeti by only 2 points, I will take that loss and look to the next season with hope.
