Offseason Point Task - 25th Anniversary Special

I joined the ISFL during the great S22 recruitment drive. I had never been a member of any kind of sim league. In fact, I hadn’t even heard of the concept. I remember creating my player and wondering what the heck I was doing and how does this whole sim thing work. I wasn’t very active my first season. I think the only team that scouted me was Dallas, but with such a large draft and the fact that no one knew who I was, that's not surprising. After Dallas drafted me, with pick 161, I wasn’t very active my first season. I hardly participated in the locker room at all, remember reading a media piece about my team that only mentioned that I didn’t talk very much. only scouted by a few more teams for the ISFL draft. Again, with such a large draft class, I’m sure it was really hard for the GMs to try and scout all of the players. I think I had a whole 91 TPE! I was kind of excited for the draft, but I thought there were only 7 rounds, and I turned the draft stream off after that, bummed that I didn’t get drafted. So, I was really surprised when Yellowknife pinged me on discord to tell me that I was drafted. At that point I decided I didn’t want anyone to have wasted a pick on me and started to work a lot harder on earning TPE and hanging out in the locker room. I realized that I had been missing out on a lot of fun and team camaraderie. I have made a lot of good online friends in both the Wraiths and Birddogs locker rooms, as well as others. I’m not a hugely social person outside of work and family, even before lockdowns and quarantine, but I’ve definitely had a blast here in the ISFL. I often feel like the old man around here at the age of 36, but it keeps me young lol. I’m still super active in the Birddogs locker room, and have made a lot of friends there even though we didn’t play together, and I have a lot great teammates on the Wraiths as well. If there is one thing I would change it would be some people take dot football a little too seriously and need to lighten up, but what can you do? I’m looking forward to making a comeback this season after kind of a down season. But even if I don’t I’ve loved being a part of this league and hope to play here and have a good time for a long time yet.
